Raye-Allen Announcements
Perfect Attendance

Raye-Allen has a Perfect Attendance Wall of Fame.  Each six weeks students who have not missed a day will be able to place their name on this special wall.  We hope all students will try very hard to have their names placed on the Wall of Fame when they are at school every day.

Raye-Allen Orchestra Students Abound
The Raye-Allen fifth graders fill the cafeteria when it is time for their orchestra class. We have 31 students enrolled in orchestra and they are doing an awesome job.  It is just amazing to sit and listen.  The middle schools will be thrilled to add them to their orchestra.                                  .
Students recognized for outstanding Character Traits

Raye-Allen students are being recognized each month for outstanding character traits.  Teachers are nominating those students they see exhibiting the trait of the month.  Forty-seven students were recognized in September by Raye-Allen teachers for their trustworthiness and friendliness.  Each month different character traits will be emphasized.

Out of those recognized, one from each grade level will have their picture displayed in the school hallway.
Students visit the fire truck
Raye-Allen kindergarten and first graders had the opportunity to visit with firemen and learn about a fire truck at school October 11th.  They even discussed the importance of having a fire alarm at home and knowing how to make sure that it is working. Each students was asked to go home, see if they have a fire alarm and told how to check it to make sure the alarms are still working.
Mrs. Nasseri and Ms. Pechal's class listening very closely to what the fireman are saying.

Partnering with CTE students from
Temple High School

Raye-Allen first graders had a great day working with the CTE students from Mrs. Belson and Mr. Miller's classes.  First graders choose from a large selection of books and read their new book with the high school students.  They also decorated wooden cars before they decorated cookies in the shapes of cars, trains and airplanes.  It was a great learning experience and loads of fun.  Thank you high school students for sharing your morning with us and being great mentors for our students.
Celebrating Constitution Week

Raye-Allen celebrated Constitution Week, Friday, September 23rd.  We were fortunate to have Mr. Lynn Wooley speak to our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.  Our assembly started with the posting of the colors and leading of the pledge by the NCO Academy at Fort Hood.  Mr. Copeland, Raye-Allen music teacher, lead our students in two songs.  The students were awesome.  We appreciate Mr. Woolley, radio talk show host and author, speaking on the origin and purpose of the U.S. Constitution and the NCO Academy for their participation in our assembly.  It was a great time of celebration and learning.
